St. Joseph’s Medical Center Rotunda Dedication

On April 1, 2019, the St. Joseph’s Medical Center of Stockton honored Dr. Henry and Sylvia Wong by dedicating its gleaming rotunda that marks the entrance to this revered medical institution. The dedication was followed by a reception held at the Cancer Institute Lobby, also named in their honor.

Dr. Henry Wong served as a Radiation Oncologist with St. Joseph’s for 37 years, from 1976 to 2013. He helped grow the oncology department from the hospital’s basement to the 13,000 square-foot Sister Mary Pia Regional Cancer Center, now known as the St. Joseph’s Cancer Institute. The Institute is the region’s only cancer center accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer.

St. Joseph’s was founded in 1899, 120 years ago. It is the region’s largest and most historic hospital.
