Wongs Recognized As Chinese Benevolent Association Celebrates 100 Years

On May 25, 2024, the Chinese Benevolent Association (CBA), dedicated to promoting Confucian ethics and fostering the welfare of the Chinese community, celebrated its 100th anniversary in Stockton, California. Established in 1924, the CBA has been a vital part of Stockton’s Chinese community, and its centennial milestone is a testament to its enduring commitment to cultural heritage and community service.

From 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, community members and guests explored the Confucius Church, enjoying cultural displays, entertainment, and refreshments. The celebration continued with a banquet at the China Palace Restaurant (5052 West Lane) from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Attendees savored delicious Chinese cuisine while reflecting on a century of community contributions.

During the celebration, Dr. Henry Wong and Sylvia Wong were recognized for their outstanding contributions. The Wongs graced the front page of the May 29, 2024 edition of the Stockton Record.
